Name: Yarran Trea
Association: Local
Race: Mostly human
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Tall, with long brown hair. Hard blue eyes, and ears slightly pointed. Long face with sharply chiseled nose. Tanned skin from years of working in the fields as a farmer. Clothing consists of linen tunic and trousers.
Skills: Very dexterous, and has a quick wit.
Weapons: A tall ironwood staff, with no engravings save the scars running down its length left by Yarran's foes.
Other: Yarran's father, Weston, grew up in Dukamalai. His mother, Araia, grew up in Tulana. Both had farmhouses not a few miles from each other. Yarran grew up in their shared farmhouse right outside Rockhaven in Tulana. Because of his parents' being from both kingdoms, Yarran grew up with tolerance of both sides. He could not see why either side was fighting the other, when both seemed so similar to each other.
For his entire life, Yarran had loved adventures. As a small boy, his mother and father bought books dotingly to read to him, and later for him to read himself. Growing up with tales of heroes and warriors, magic and questing encouraged his imagination far beyond that a normal farmer's boy would have. But in his small farmhouse near Rockhaven, he never had the opportunity to actually go on the adventures he had dreamed about. A life of farming was all he had to look forward to.
All that changed when he discovered the Ardenia Tavern. He had been in town to buy some sugar and horseshoes for his mother and father, when he happened to hear laughter from the large, imposing wooden building on one side of the square. He hadn't paid the building much mind in the past, but the laughter drew him in.
Inside, he finally got his chance to adventure. There were Dekamalaian soldiers in the Tavern at the time, and he shyly sat down at one of the tables. The education that followed taught him that half the things in books he read were not stories at all, rather they were the truth. Piquing his desire to learn more, he stopped by the Tavern daily.
Adventurers stopped by now and again, and from them Yarran was inspired. The world was far larger than just Dekamalai and Tulana. All he had to do was walk down the road, and he could be a hero! This inspired him with an enormous self-confidence. All he had to do was go out into the world, and adventure would find him. The heroes in the books never had any trouble winning, so it must be easy.
When he finally got to go on his own adventures, with Julian and Jonny, Yarran found out the hard way what adventuring was like. But he still won all of his battles, and his self-confidence was never compromised. He could trust himself and his blade, and that was his personal religion.
